Subsequently he headed up multi-disciplinary teams working with Brown Root on oil and gas and defence infrastructure projects and then with British Gas on their construction management board, with a matrix of 400 engineers designing capital projects.
In 1995 Mike and his colleague, formed Technodyne International Ltd, an independent design house dedicated to cryogenic tanks. He was chief engineer for his team who designed over 100 tanks, half of them for LNG, in an 18 year period.
He has continued as an independent consultant, acting as owners’ engineer on import and export terminals, on failure investigations and as expert witness in litigation on LNG tanks and ships.
