Hayato Suga is Executive Vice President / Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK), he has over 35years experience as classification experts especially for LNG/LPG/LH2 shipping and shipbuilding technology. Since beginning his career at ClassNK in 1986, Hayato Suga has contributed greatly to the safety of liquefied gas carriers and tankers, from inspecting vessel basic drawings to supporting the creation of technical guidelines including software development. He was appointed as Director of Plan Approval and Technical Solution Division in 2018 being in charge of the management for new technology review & support and moved to the board in 2022 as Executive Vice President.
Mr. Suga is a long time member of the Tanker Structure Co-operative Forum, which is dedicated to improving tanker safety, and also served as the current Chairman of the Forum for long period. Mr. Suga was named the 39^th leading in Tanker Shipping & Trade’s Top 50 Tanker Leaders 2014, representing the growing recognition of his many contributions to improved tanker safety.
