After graduating in Chemistry, Chris began his career at the International Chamber of Shipping, London (1973-78). He was a member of the original IGC & STCW gas training syllabus Committees, and he compiled the ICS Tanker Safety Guide (Liquefied Gas). After a year as Operations Supervisor on a petchem process & storage plant, he took an MSc in Cryogenic Engineering and worked on LNG plant design with BG. Chris then moved to Copenhagen as Kosan Tanker's Gas Superintendent, later moving to the Isle of Man - where he was born - to run Kosan's LPG import/tanker/town gas operations.In 1990, Chris joined Dorchester Maritime - looking after cargo system design, newbuild, upgrades & operations for their owned & managed LPG/LEG/LNG fleets. He also undertakes consultancy and "Expert Witness" work for Third Parties, and runs operations training courses for ship & shore gas staff. Chris is a Chartered Engineer, and holds a Patent for LNG propulsion technology. He is Chair of SIGTTO's central GPC committee, and has published a number of technical papers on gas shipping.In 2013, Chris was appointed as Inaugural Chairman of the newly-founded Society for Gas as a Marine Fuel (SGMF).
