Jérôme Malka is a member of the Executive Committee at ENGIE Global Energy Management & Sales. He oversees global Sales, Structuring & Commercial Care activities, as well as Mergers & Acquisitions, Global LNG, Global Biomass, and the Asia Pacific & ANZ businesses. With 30 years of dual bank-industry experience in energy and environmental markets, renewable and sustainability transitions, and energy infrastructure, Jérôme brings a wealth of expertise to his role.
Jérôme began his career as an oil trader in 1991 at Société Générale in Paris and London. Over the next 20 years, he worked as an energy trader at Société Générale, where he participated in the creation of the electronic trading platform Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) in 2000. In 2002, he was appointed Head of Energy Trading at Société Générale.
In 2006, Jérôme founded ORBEO, a joint venture between Société Générale and the chemical company Rhodia, focusing on CO2 credits. As Managing Director of ORBEO from 2006 to 2011, he led the company to multiple recognition awards as the best emission trading company. During this period, he also served as a Board Member of the European Carbon Fund (ECF).
In 2012, Jérôme joined Solvay as Head of Energy & CO₂ Markets. Two years later, he moved to Houston to become Executive Vice President of Solvay Energy Services North America and Managing Director of Solvay Biomass Energy, a company developing biomass-based products.
Jérôme joined ENGIE in March 2019 in Paris as Head of Green Power in the Global Energy Management business unit. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, which he earned in 1991.
