Dr. Xin Wang is the department head for Optimization and Data Analytics at Quorum Software, the largest fully dedicated energy industry software provider in the world. At Quorum Software, he leads a group of highly skilled data and decision scientists in delivering scientific research-based advanced analytics, optimization, and AI solutions to the energy industry for decision support and process improvements. Xin received his PhD in Operations Research from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom in 2014. He obtained his master's degree in Management Science, as well as undergraduate training in Electronic Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. Prior to joining Quorum Software in 2018, Xin worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and visiting researcher at Norwegian School of Economics, as well as at CIRRELT Interuniversity Research Centre on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation in Canada. His research focused on optimization, maritime logistics and decision making under uncertainty. He has published numerous papers in internationally leading journals such as INFORMS Journal on Computing, European Journal of Operational Research, Computers & Operations Research and Omega: The International Journal of Management Science.
