Giorgio Bonvicini has a M.Sc. in Energy Engineering and eleven years of work experience in climate change mitigation and adaptation fields, developed with the delivery of projects for private companies, public authorities and International Financial Institutions. Since January 2017, he is a Certified Energy Management Expert (“EGE”) according to the Italian regulations, which allows him to sign energy audits according to the EU Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU.
He has proven experience in climate- and resource efficiency-related activities for compliance of projects with Equator Principles, including the quantification of GHG emissions, Climate Change Alternative Analyses, Climate Change Risk Assessments covering both Physical and Transition risks in line with TCFD Guidelines. In this context, his main activities have focused on energy-related projects (utility-scale renewable power plants, LNG terminals and storage sites), industries (chemical, mechanical), services sector (airports, large commercial complexes).
Mr. Bonvicini is also a lecturer of "Carbon Footprinting and Carbon Trading" within the Master in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation at Politecnico di Torino. He owns experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and calculation of Carbon and Water Footprint, with preparation of Study Reports and External Communication Reports, knowledge of relevant ISO technical standards and a deep understanding of methodologies for CO2 accounting and reporting including Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) of emissions from ships.
In this context, he has supported large companies in several sectors (Oil&Gas, Utilities, Textile/Luxury, etc.) willing to implement corporate decarbonization and climate strategies, mainly by carrying out energy/resource efficiency assessments, Life Cycle Assessments and climate change vulnerability studies on relevant assets.
