Osamu Ono is Senior Vice President, Chief Regional Officer for Asia Pacific and India at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and President, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Asia Pacific (MHI-AP). He is based in Singapore and oversees MHI Group and MHI-AP’s businesses which provide cross-industry solutions in energy and infrastructure that support sustainable growth across key markets in the region. These include Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, India and Australia.
He leads his team to provide innovative technologies that enable energy security and sustainable development as countries chart their net zero pathways – contributing to MHI’s “Mission Net Zero” goal to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations and entire value chain by 2040.
Ono started his career at MHI in 1983 at the department of Domestic Nuclear Power Plants and spent the next parts of his career in varied leadership roles focused on power generation across Asia. With 40 years of experience, Ono has forged close relationships with stakeholders across sectors and is committed to driving decarbonized growth.
