Championing hydrogen as a low carbon solution within the future energy mix
Hydrogen is being positioned as a vital part of a future energy mix, as work accelerates towards the development and adoption of low carbon fuel alternatives.
Globally, policymakers are positioning hydrogen as central to net zero ambitions, yet mandatory hydrogen demand-side measures remain critical to accelerate the global transition away from fossil fuels. Hydrogen saw peak political recognition at COP28 where the UAE Presidency put forward a dedicated Hydrogen Action Agenda, featuring the Declaration of Intent on hydrogen certifi cation signed by nearly 40 governments representing approximately 80% of the future global market. The UAE Consensus signposted hydrogen’s importance as a low-carbon fuel and the critical role policy plays in stimulating hydrogen economies.
The Gastech Hydrogen Strategic Program will bring together the energy industry’s leading players to discuss the challenges and opportunities of mainstreaming hydrogen. The conference will explore how stakeholders from across the value chain can work together to jumpstart new investments, funding, and off-takers, ensure cost-competitiveness of projects, equipment, and technology, stimulate innovation and R&D, and solve the fundamental issues of how to safely store and transport hydrogen.
