Sergio Aquenza graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico University of Milan in 1989. He has 29 years of experience in the Engineering and Construction business, in refining and petrochemicals industries. In 1989 he started his career in AgipPetroli, the refining company of ENI group. He worked until 1995 as process engineer and Process Coordinator in Sannazaro Refinery, one of the main Italian refineries, in charge of operation optimization and troubleshooting for Hydrotreating and Deep Conversion units such as Hydrocraking and Visbreaking, as well as in charge of process follow-up of major revamps and new units. In 1995 he joined Tecnimont, where he worked as Senior Process Engineer, Lead Process Engineer and then Process Manager responsible for basic, FEED and detailed engineering projects in the areas of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemicals and Polyolefins. He moved in 2007 to Foster Wheeler Italiana, where he worked as Process Manager responsible for complex FEED Projects in the area of Refining for Turkish and Venezuelan clients, developing Projects related to Deep Conversion refineries. He joined Techint Engineering & Construction as Head of Process Engineering in 2012, involved in large EPC projects and in the development of several Feasibility and basic design studies, mainly for LNG regasification technology and Refinery. Sergio developed a broad experience in basic and detailed engineering by coordinating large process teams in complex projects, involving relationship with foreign partners, subcontractors, PMC's and licensors located in India, South Korea, Japan, United States of America, Venezuela, Turkey, Spain, England, The Netherlands, France and Germany. He also developed a broad experience in refinery process units commissioning and start-up as well as field operation assistance and grew a good level of knowledge of related engineering, construction and maintenance issues.
