Rod Christie is President & CEO of BHGE's Turbomachinery & Process Solutions (TPS) business based in Florence, Italy. He assumed leadership of the Turbomachinery Solutions business within GE Oil & Gas in January 2016 and, in January 2017, his responsibility expanded to include Downstream Technology Solutions - forming one of the industry's most extensive businesses for rotating equipment, auxiliaries and lifecycle services. TPS became part of BHGE in July 2017 when the merger between GE Oil & Gas and Baker Hughes to form the first digital fullstream oil and gas company was completed. Rod is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of international experience in the Power & Energy industry. In his current role, he is responsible for overseeing the development of all product lines and global operations, along with the digital transformation of our manufacturing and service facilities to innovate and deliver comprehensive mechanical-drive, compression, power-generation and transmission solutions for customers in onshore and offshore production, pipeline, LNG, gas processing and distribution, refinery, petrochemical and industrial sectors. Prior to this role, Rod was CEO of the GE Oil & Gas, Subsea Systems & Drilling business based in Aberdeen, UK. He joined GE in 1999 as Operations Manager of Power Systems in Slough, UK. In 2002, after several operational service roles, he was promoted to lead the Service Operations for Energy Services in Europe. In 2004, he was appointed President of GE Energy for Central & Eastern Europe, Russia and CIS. Before joining GE, Rod spent 15 years with Scottish Hydro Electric (now Scottish & Southern Electric) in a wide range of engineering, project development and management roles. Rod holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Glasgow Caledonian University.
