Clare Harris is Executive Vice President of Venture Development, effective 1 January 2016. After graduating with a Masters in Earth Sciences from Oxford University, Clare joined Shell International in 1994 where she served in various technical and commercial roles in Shell's upstream organizations in the Netherlands, London, and the Middle East. In 2000 Clare moved to serve in the British Foreign Office as the Commercial Attache in Libya. Returning to Shell in 2002 Clare took responsibility for gas and LNG growth in Nigeria before moving to the role of Global Portfolio Manager for Shell's Gas and Power business, overseeing the global strategy and portfolio of Gas, LNG, Gas and Coal to Liquids, and Renewables projects and markets. Clare then served as Development Manager for the Southern North Sea, one of Shell's largest operated assets before moving to Qatar for 5 years as Vice President for Gas Development and Director of Qatar Shell Research and Technology Centre. Clare then joined Shell's Integrated Gas Leadership team as Vice President of Ventures East, overseeing Shell's gas ventures in Asia and acting as Managing Director of Shell's Gas to Liquids Plant in Malaysia before moving to her current role.
